Welcome to our first feature round-up of the year! We’re excited to share our latest feature updates for both UpSlide users and admins, from a brand-new AI Assistant to one-click Gantt Charts in PowerPoint.

Updates for Users

Clearly Illustrate Project Timelines with Gantt Charts in PowerPoint

Say goodbye to spending hours manually building Gantt charts in Excel or PowerPoint. Recent updates to UpSlide’s PowerPoint ribbon allow you to build perfectly branded Gantt charts in just a few clicks.

Easily insert and update milestones, tasks, subtasks, and dependencies via a simple drop-down menu in the Gantt Charts pane. Guarantee all Gantt Charts are generated within your graphic charter, with the flexibility to customize them to fit your needs.

This feature is still in Beta, so to gain early access, your IT team will need to activate it via Microsoft Appsource. Once it’s been activated, you can find it via your PowerPoint ribbon under the “Add-ins” tab.

Leverage an AI Assistant Tailored to Your Company’s Tone of Voice

We teased the AI Glossary in a previous feature round-up, and now we’re excited to launch our second AI-powered feature — the custom AI Assistant.

The new AI Assistant brings the power of GPT4 to your PowerPoint ribbon, without the need for a personal GPT license. Shorten, improve, and translate text in seconds – all within your company’s tone of voice.

Your UpSlide admin can pre-set the prompts to ensure that all AI-generated content across your business is to the highest standard, in line with company guidelines.

Top Tip

For best results with the AI Assistant, use a pre-set prompt written by your UpSlide admin. For example:

  • “Ensure all spelling and tone of voice are in line with our company brand guidelines.”
  • “Improve the clarity and readability of this text in line with our editorial charter.”
  • “Convert this text into bullet-points in our company branding.”

Access the AI Assistant within your UpSlide ribbon, or via the shortcut CTRL + ALT + SPACE.

Note: Before getting started with this new feature, your IT team needs to connect it to your company’s Azure Open AI tenant.

Build Financial Models Even Faster with UpSlide-Specific Shortcuts in Excel

Spending hours creating financial models in Excel? You can now access UpSlide’s text and data formatting features via 11 new cycling keyboard shortcuts.

We’ve released 11 new keyboard shortcuts to save you time, enabling you to format font styles, change number format, and apply multipliers or currency formats to selected cells. It’s time to go mouse-free in Excel!

Audit Complex Financial Models in Seconds with Smart Track’s Improved UX

Tracing precedents and dependents in Excel is one of the most time-consuming tasks when building and reviewing a financial model. But now, with this latest update, you’re able to identify all cells impacted by your formulas and edit them in seconds via the user-friendly Smart Track pane.

Smart Track’s new and improved UX allows you to navigate your workbook with ease, thanks to clearly highlighted tracked cells.

Updates for Admins

Add Custom Shapes and Table Styles to Specific Templates

If your business operates with multiple UpSlide templates – for example between pitch teams and reporting teams – UpSlide admins can now customize these in even more detail.

Ensure each team has quick access to the most relevant content with the ability to assign unique Table Styles and Custom Shapes to each team’s template. They will have even more formatting flexibility, while remaining compliant with your firm’s graphic charter.

Plus, good news, admins can now save Custom Shapes within your own personal menu for easy access.

We’ve updated our Portal interface to make license management even more efficient for your business.

Oversee all company-wide UpSlide licenses in one place via the UpSlide Portal, from UpSlide Classic to additional options like the Outlook Signature Manager, Modeling Tools, or the Logo Finder.
